Do you have that voice in your head that is cares about what other people think? Ever wish you didn’t? Well, the truth is it’s human nature and not caring at all isn’t actually healthy. It’s the part of you that makes you compassionate, empathetic and kind. When it is overacting that’s when it holds us back and prevents us from showing up authentically. Today I’m giving you some scenarios to consider and teaching you how to quiet that voice and feel more confident. Even when other people don’t approve of you. Check it.

Your timing on this podcast was perfect for me! My daughter is attempting to emancipate herself tomorrow. Going in front of lawyers and judges to hear her version of what terrible parents we are Is a bit daunting. But it is true, her thoughts on the things we’ve required of her really mean nothing. It is all what I’m telling myself that is important. This week I really have the debate teams going on in my head, and it’s been really hard. I’m going to listen to this a few more times.

*I’ve had so many people say, “what’s a podcast?”I’m on board! I will convert as many people as I can!
*I agree! We should care a little about what others think! I love how you say so much of what I’ve been thinking. I have someone in my life who says, “my opinion is the only one that matters.” And I don’t agree.
*such a great distinction! What people think about me says a lot about THEM!
*The debate team in my head says “You’re hilarious and so right!”
*Why do some people have a harder time caring what people think than others?
*I don’t think anyone has a high opinion of me. Right now I feel very alone. It’s so nice to realize that I can want that without needing it.
*I’ve always loved approval and used to get that A LOT. So it was really difficult when my life changed significantly and that approval I used to get almost disappeared. I haven’t felt this good in such a long time. The best part is it’s sustainable because it comes from within me! I create my own approval. I’m so happy~
